Ireland ODI

[edit]

Aren't the West Indies scheduled to face Ireland in an ODI match at Stormont on the 13th of September? Linkiscool99 (talk) 19:54, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I would imagine that would be covered by West Indian cricket team in Ireland in 2017. – PeeJay 19:56, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, yes. Thank you for the clear up. Not sure what the point is of having an entire article for one match but oh well. Linkiscool99 (talk) 20:31, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Couldn't we have just put it into this article? Linkiscool99 (talk) 20:37, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly, but there are a handful of one-off tours/matches with their own articles, and it is listed as a standalone tour on Cricinfo, etc. Plus there will be coverage from the Irish press, Cricket Ireland, the BBC, etc, for potential expansion. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:07, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I mean it is technically its own tour, but I can't remember the last time any team went to Ireland without also touring England (and/or Wales). – PeeJay 07:40, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Is there any reason why the near identical tour by Pakistan last year is a single article, but this tour split into two? Are we just going on the cricinfo designation (and if so how to they decide to split it)?Spike 'em (talk) 09:42, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
This and the Eng/WI fixtures are listed as individual tours on the ICC site too Eng-WI, Ire-WI if that helps. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 10:01, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
