Ryan Matthews
[edit]Matthews Should be a noteable alumni as he is currently the Starting Running Back for Fresno St. and was an All-league selection at West high. But there is no page on him. I's kinda new to editing but if someone would start a page on him I could fill in a lot of information on him.--Steelersjoeyporter (talk) 19:31, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
West High Alma Mater
[edit]Is this notable enough to move back to the article? Is it clear of CV? RJFJR (talk) 14:14, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
- We are the vikings of the Valley standing true and bold
- bravely waving all our colors shining green and gold
- friendships we will cherish always upward our goals will lie
- to you we proudly sing our praises
- HAIL ALL HAIL WEST HIGH
Notable alumni
[edit]I've moved the long-unreferenced list of notable alumni here. If/when listings can be verified with a reliable source, they can be added back into the article. Deli nk (talk) 21:32, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
- Ed Alonzo, magician and television personality
- AJ Jefferson, football player; undrafted rookie cornerback for the Minnesota Vikings
- Brock Marion, football player; All-Pro defensive back, Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins
- Ryan Mathews, football player; first-round selection and 12th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft; San Diego Chargers, NFL running back
- Deli nk: I've restored those entries where valid sources for attendance exist in the individual bios. I also did the same on a school in New Hampshire. Be advised that relying on sources for attendance in the individual bios is endorsed in the school article guidelines. If you have a problem with that, I'd suggest starting a discussion at WT:WPSCH/AG. Please advise me of any other schools you've done this on recently and I'll be happy to re-vet the lists. Thanks. - But the template that is used within this article, {{alumni}}, specifically instructs the reader to remove names "that do not have independent reliable sources cited within this article" (emphasis mine). My actions were entirely consistent with those instructions. I'm not sure how to resolve the contradiction. Also, I have re-removed the sentence "Favorite student is James. "MR. ARRETCHE"" which you restored to the article - it is clearly inappropriate content. Deli nk (talk) 13:13, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
