Untitled
[edit]According to this page Jamie Oliver lives in Gardnor Road, which is off Flask Walk, so not by any stretch West Hampstead. Unless he has moved again since 2001. Justinc 15:57, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
I've deleted all the listed famous residents, except for rachel stevens - because they all live/lived in real hampstead, not west hampstead! Avaya1 14:25, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
mxpule Does anyone know the history of the effigy of the Devil on the side of the house at 255 West End Lane Hampstead (now Lupa Pizza), along with the date of the building? I'll put a photo up when I get a chance. —Preceding undated comment added 14:53, 5 June 2010 (UTC).
IRA Bombing
[edit]I cannot find any record or reference to IRA bombs exploding at the fire station in West Hampstead, and the explosions in Finchley Road happened on the Hampstead side, so I removed the paragraph altogether. If someone does find a source for a bombing in W Hampstead, please reinstate the piece. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/two-found-guilty-of-ira-bomb-campaign-1444090.htmlStelmaris (talk) 19:09, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

Image of fire station
[edit]I removed the image added by FunkyCanute because it's totally unrecognisable and unrepresentative of the fire station. I assume it's taken from the back of the building at an odd angle . It would be nice to have an image of the station - a listed building - but one of the front would be more suitable. --Stelmaris (talk) 17:07, 28 September 2012 (UTC)
- While it might not be the view most people see, it is a representation of the fire station and shows the entire building, which is not visible from the front, and illustrates what an early C20 fire station looks like. FunkyCanute (talk) 17:30, 28 September 2012 (UTC)
Well, I completely disagree as I don't think the image illustrates anything at all, doesn't represent the fire station accurately and - sorry to say - is not of a very good quality. I think it's a shame that people wanting to find out about West Hampstead would come to this page and only have that picture to illustrate the piece. However, I don't propose fighting about this and will leave it to other and future editors to decide for themselves. You are obviously proud of the picture so I will leave you to your enjoyment. --Stelmaris (talk) 13:11, 29 September 2012 (UTC)
Rewriting Work In Progress
[edit]I live here and am basically summarising http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=22636 for the History section.
I'd like to get this article to featured quality if possible so could we please chat about any major changes. Thanks Pingu7931 (talk) 05:11, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
Notable residents
[edit]Edward Petherbridge, actor—-should be included as s notable resident. He is, after all, currently writing a history of the neighborhood. Anglophile2 (talk) 22:34, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
