Hi. I am Calvin999 and I am reviewing this nomination.  — Calvin999 19:36, 19 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

*I think United States should be added to the lead and info box, because a lot of people won't necessarily know where Rhode Island is.

  • Which leads me on to perhaps a map of the US being included in the info box to give a geographical location of Rhode Island itself?
  • Why isn't the designer's name in the info box? Does a parameter not exist?
  • Quotations in the lead need to have an inline citation after it.
  • , particularly in New York were → Comma after New York
  • the war dead → Does this mean people who died in the war? If so, which war?
  • The success this the earlier → Doesn't make sense
  • Do we know what gave them reason to call the original design too brutal?
  • Onorato describes the sculpture → Who is this?
  • sculpture as, → I don't think a comma is needed here.
  • The front relief is states → Doesn't make sense
  • It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 19, 2001. → Source?
  • The references use different date formats. Pick one and be consistent with it.
Outcome

On hold for 7 days. Neat article.  — Calvin999 19:52, 19 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, ignore what is above. I had the World War 1 Memorial (East Providence, Rhode Island) article open but this nomination page open. I will copy the above in to the correct review page.  — Calvin999 19:57, 19 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Here is the review for this nomination:

  • In the info box, I'd write "State of Connecticut" in the governing body parameter.
Done. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 15:24, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • been at place → been in place
Done. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 15:24, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • queen trusses → What does this mean?
Linked. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 15:24, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • The bridge was added → It was added ('bridge' was getting a bit repetitive!)
Done. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 15:24, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • built at this location. As early as 1762, a bridge may have been in service at this location. → Repetition of 'this location'
  • had typically life span of → Doesn't quite make sense
Done. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 15:24, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • For many decades the current West Cornwall bridge was believed to have been constructed in 1841, as a replacement for an earlier bridge that washed away in the flood of 1837.[4] The 1841 date was even included on the National Register of Historic Places nomination and was claimed to have been supervised by Ithiel Town himself. → I feel like this isn't answered? I was almost expecting you to write when it was really constructed. Maybe re-phrase this part.
The NRHP nomination is in error. The 1841 date, widely believed, has been proven wrong. Ithiel may have supervised the 1841 bridge's construction, but that bridge is not the current bridge. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 15:24, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • The bridge's Town lattice truss → Why is town capitalised?
The Town lattice is a proper name, it is Ithiel Town's design. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 15:24, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • In 1957, the bridge was painted red for the first time. → Does this mean it has been painted more than once since? Perhaps omit 'for the first time'.
The bridge was not painted red prior. Given that you need to repaint every 10 years or so, yes... the bridge has been repainted several times at minimum. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 15:24, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • The bridge's Town lattice the appearance → You've linked Town lattice here but I think you should link it earlier on.
Done. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 15:24, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • The bridge's Town lattice the appearance appears odd → Something isn't right here, read it aloud.
Fixed. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 15:24, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • well withing → well within
Fixed. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 15:24, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • as one of three → as it is one of only three
Fixed. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 15:24, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • a Howe truss, and→ a Howe truss, or
Altered to fix. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 15:24, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • The reference use different date formats.

Outcome

On hold for 7 days.  — Calvin999 20:12, 19 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, I'm failing this article. 7 days has passed since I placed the article on hold. No response or acknowledgment from the nominator, and the nominator has been very inactive. Act on my suggestions above and I'm sure it will pass next time.  — Calvin999 07:57, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Calvin999: All fixed please check to see. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 15:24, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

After checking at GAN, it is okay for me to remove the failed template and replaced with passed template.  — Calvin999 17:32, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
