Image issues
[edit]Unspecified source for Image:2006AFLGrandFinalLogo.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:2006AFLGrandFinalLogo.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:18, 25 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Betacommand (talk • contribs • Bot) 23:17, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:2006AFLGrandFinalLogo.png
[edit]Image:2006AFLGrandFinalLogo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a non-free use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Image copyright problem with Image:GeelongDesign.jpg
[edit]The image Image:GeelongDesign.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Fix it
[edit]This article is full of conjecture and speculation, largely in a 'sycophantic fan' tone. I've fixed some but there is plenty left to do. 124.178.141.71 (talk) 14:05, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

File:West Coast Eagles Jumper.svg Nominated for speedy Deletion
[edit]An image used in this article, File:West Coast Eagles Jumper.svg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations

Speedy deletions at commons tend to take longer than they do on Wikipedia, so there is no rush to respond. If you feel the deletion can be contested then please do so (commons:COM:SPEEDY has further information). Otherwise consider finding a replacement image before deletion occurs.

Proposed Mick Malthouse picture
[edit]I'm bringing this here because it's one of the clubs Mick has been associated with. I'm just seeking a few more views on a discussion underway about an image an editor has proposed for the article. See the article history and the Tak page. HiLo48 (talk) 03:17, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
Identity
[edit]Curious to know what is the origins of the design, something I've never been able to understand. Why bright blue and yellow? What do the colours symbolise? Is the yellow inspired by the WA state badge? Are the yellow curved bits on the guernsey meant to resemble wings? As a new club, I'm sure the marketing department has explained these things at some stage ... --Rulesfan (talk) 08:31, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
They originally announced green and gold as their colours to match the original WA state colours, but I've never read anything about why gold and blue was the final choice. I also suspect gold as the main colour because it matched WA, and blue because any other non-hideous colour would have clashed Richmond or Hawthorn or Brisbane. But the marketing research can't have been that good, since they reversed their colours to blue as the main colour in less than two years. Newspapers on or around 31 October 1986 will hold the answers since that's when it was announced. Aspirex (talk) 11:49, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
Membership and Attendance
[edit]Most AFL club pages have a membership and average attendance table over time. There is very little historical data on this club's popularity. It seems pretty improbable that it could jump from 54,745 to 106,422 in 10 years, that is almost double! And how does this compare to the club's early days in the 1980s for example.--Rulesfan (talk) 03:33, 8 May 2022 (UTC)
