Werner and Gustav in Vancouver

[edit]

This is a one/two sentence mention currently, might be more to it; the von Alvensleben brothers were prominent financiers and socialites in pre-Great War Vancouver, and backers of the Dominion Building, then the tallest in the British Empire; their local career is outlined in Strangers Entertained, which is a BC govt centennial publication (1971) on the province's ethnic groups; see Talk:Dominion Building for more; I don't have resources here to write up such a section but just giving notice it's out there, if not as "important" as the Germany-side bio already here....Skookum1 (talk) 16:32, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong Reference

[edit]

Gustav is not Constantine Alvensleven. They were brothers. Alvo von Alvensleben (1880-1967) came to BC and was a financier. The link is wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.7.240.212 (talk) 00:24, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Second part of article

[edit]

This entire portion needs to be rewritten into an encyclopedic article and referenced; as it reads now it is the personal reflection of a family aqaintence of the subject. 2600:1004:B16D:C243:208C:6A65:DD98:1705 (talk) 22:32, 26 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
