Include at the Phase Four article?

Collider's recent article discussing the filming of this special says it is intended to be released around the 2022 holiday season. Knowing that we still have Phase Four films releasing in 2023, even though this has yet to be formally announced, should we add it to the Phase Four article? And if so, how do we source the "It is intended to be part of Phase Four" line we would need to add in "Release"? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:56, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

I think we should probably wait, as assuming it is Phase Four because it's releasing in 2022, while it may seem obvious to us, would be original research. —El Millo (talk) 16:19, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

Production Weekly Info

In a recent issue of Production Weekly, it listed the special as being titled Werewolf by Night to shoot from February to March 2022. It also listed as being the Jake Gomez incarnation of the Werewolf by Night in the synopsis attached. Although I heard it's a placeholder from a 2020 comic. The Comic Book Resources source included in the article does show the synopsis from Production Weekly. However, like you stated, it is the synopsis from the 2020 comic. As far as I've seen, at least in Marvel's cases, the synopsizes given to Production Weekly are usually basic character descriptions, or the premise of a relevant comic series that inspired the project, so it isn't really an accurate representation of what the project will actually be about. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:49, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Giacchino

It definitely seems like some smoke per Variety saying The composer was unavailable for this story; he is reportedly off directing a television project for Marvel. If all of this is true, it would help indicate this is actually filming right now, which has been hard to pin down is the case. Separately, here is Comic Circus's article (which we can't use and I think Adam was referring to) that discusses both Giacchino and a delayed filming start to the middle of March (ie probably next week), just so editors are aware of what's being thrown around. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:17, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

The Hollywood Reporter has now confirmed Giacchino as director and that filming will begin later this month in Atlanta, along with a release later this year and that it is referred to as "Werewolf By Night" but will have a different title by the time it releases. The info has been updated in the draft and the Phase Five and TV series list, although I am questioning what we'll do once it is filming. Should we move it to the Phase Four article like we did with What If season 2 as a 2022 release is more solidly confirmed now? Trailblazer101 (talk) 21:00, 11 March 2022 (UTC)

Premise text

The premise was put back on the article, even though it's pretty much the same premise as the first issue of Werewolf by Night vol 3, including calling Jake the "new" Werewolf by Night, despite the fact that in the MCU, there hasn't been an old one.

I think it's pretty blatant that the article took the premise from the Werewolf by Night vol 3 #1 description, which means it's not the official description at all. We have no official confirmation what character Gael is playing or even what the title of this special is, so I don't understand why this premise text is still in use. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.75.248.162 (talk) 22:03, 3 May 2022 (UTC)

Logo and title confirm?

We usually don't pull information from crew member's websites or agency resumes, but this one says "Werewolf by Night" as the project and has a pretty official looking logo for it. Conversely, we have THR's article about Giacchino directing in article stating that this wasn't going to be the final title. That logo seems to be pretty old, here it's used in February of 2022. I assume it's a fan creation. UnderIrae (talk) 15:50, 20 August 2022 (UTC)

Doing a reverse image search makes it look like it possibly originated from the Cosmic Circus. Murphy's Multiverse also used a similar image in November 2021. -- Zoo (talk) 16:00, 20 August 2022 (UTC)

Jake Gomez or Jack Russell?

All internal media seems to refer to Bernal's character as Jake, as in Jake Gomez. But following the trailer's releases, he seems to playing Jack, as in Jack Russell. What do we put for him at this time? Full title

I don't think we should be mentioning "[A] Marvel Studios' Special Presentation: Werewolf by Night" in the lead. For one, I can't find any sourcing to this affect beyond the trailer title (and obviously what's on the poster) so "Werewolf by Night" is definitely the WP:COMMONNAME and I'm thinking the official name. Second, this is covered in the development section regarding this, which is I think all that needs to be mentioned. Thoughts? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 02:40, 11 September 2022 (UTC)

I agree. Though this is just speculation right now, "A Marvel Studios Special Presentation" will likely be the label for Disney+ specials, so the GotG Holiday Special could be labeled as such. Again just speculation for now. — SirDot (talk) 02:53, 11 September 2022 (UTC)

I'm questioning the reliability of this source and/or where this info is coming from because no other reputable source is stating this. Marvel didn't say anything at the panel itself, nor in their article on Marvel.com.
