I wrote the initial version of this wikipedia page, and I would like to declare an interest. I am married to Wendy Lewis. That said, I did read the COI guidelines before I launched the page, and I think that what I have done is justifiable under those guidelines. I can see that there is certainly scope for conflict of interest, but it remains true that she is notable, my comments stuck to verifiable facts, and I tried as hard as possible to be unbiased. I think I succeeded. Ben Morphett |
needs references about her to demonstrate notability
[edit]A comment was made that the article needs references about her to demonstrate notability.
I would have thought that the necessary references are already in there.
She is an established author (the references are seven ISBNs).
The book Australians of the Year is a notable book: it is the officially endorsed history of the Australian of the Year Award. It was commissioned by and is an Official Licensed Product of the National Australia Day Council; it is introduced by a message from the Governor General and a foreword by the chairman of the National Australia Day Council. This can be verified by http://www.australianoftheyear.org.au/media/?view=news&id=740.
I'll update the site with a new reference: http://www.australianoftheyear.org.au/media/files/vobuuu_Australians%20of%20the%20Year%201960%20-%202010%20by%20Wendy%20Lewis.pdf

The result of the move request was: not moved -- no indication (and WP article length is no indication) of primary topic -- JHunterJ (talk) 13:11, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
Wendy Lewis (writer) → Wendy Lewis – Wendy Lewis the writer is objectively more notable than Wendy Lewis the singer. Richfife (talk) 20:26, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
- Any measurements using WP:PRIMARYTOPIC criteria to support? -- JHunterJ (talk) 11:23, 25 March 2012 (UTC)
- Weak support Well the writer certainly has the longer article, but I'm not sure how decisive that is. PatGallacher (talk) 00:34, 26 March 2012 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: page moved as technical request -- JHunterJ (talk) 11:06, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
Wendy Lewis (writer) → Wendy Lewis – I know this was discussed very recently, but now that she is the sole meaning it could be non-controversial. PatGallacher (talk) 01:39, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
