[edit]Wachovia Securities (the former page to this) was both a retail brokerage and the investment banking and capital markets group for Wachovia, while Wells Fargo Advisors is only the retail brokerage part. That is the reason for the two separate pages. Following the acquisition, these two group received different names, Wells Fargo Advisors and Wells Fargo Securities, respectively. Because Wachovia Securities was more just the future Wells Fargo Advisors, that is the reason there needs to be two different pages. I am still working on getting more information for the investment banking and capital markets part of the Wachovia Securities page. Additionally, Wells Fargo Advisors incorporates parts of both Wachovia and Wells Fargo. If you were to simply redirect old acquired company sites, then sites such as Bear Stearns, Merrill Lynch, Wachovia, Fleet Boston, Norwest, Saloman Brothers, First Boston, Bank One, etc should also redirect and not be separate pages. Proposing merge
[edit]This article goes nowhere on its own. The only reason to split this off from the main article would be to go through additional detail about this division. I would propose a dedicated section on Wells Fargo about Wells Fargo Advisors. |► ϋrбanяeneωaℓ • TALK ◄| 01:59, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
- I disagree, Wells Fargo Advisors is a major division of a very large bank. On its own it would comfortably be a Fortune 500 business. In my view this article requires considerable expansion, not merging. There is a huge amount of content about the article subject in highly reputable sources to enable a far more comprehensive article to take shape. Rangoon11 (talk) 01:44, 26 November 2010 (UTC)
