Predators... minks?
[edit]I note that the section on predators mentions minks. Well, we don't have minks in Australia. So what is this doing in an article about the Australian Welcome Swallow? Johnatyandoit (talk) 13:57, 3 October 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Don't you think that Taillow from Pokemon is based off of this species of bird? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.223.52.183 (talk) 19:51, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
- You're half right. Taillow is indeed known as "Tsubame" ツバメ which is Japanese for the bird we commonly call "Swallow". The Japanese swallow, or Tsubame, is the same genus but a different species - Hirundo rustica. The Welcome Swallow is not found in Japan, so they wouldn't have used it to make a Pokemon character. should the section on greek festivals relating to European swallows not be on the the European swallows page? Seems unrelated to welcome swallows... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.87.252.225 (talk) 15:22, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
File:Hirundo neoxena risdon.jpg to appear as POTD soon
[edit]Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Hirundo neoxena risdon.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on September 25, 2012. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2012-09-25. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :) Thanks! —howcheng {chat} 20:08, 24 September 2012 (UTC)
