Odd; this page doesn't mention at all that Sanitarium wasn't always about a mental institution. The demo (that has half of Orion at the end of it) originally had totally different lyrics that seem to be about paegan religions ("Sacrifice with the goldenrod/Virgin flee to the newfound God/An offering to the diety/But the only things their minds will see/They see it right and they see it well/But they think he'll save them from their hell") This verse is repeated for the second verse instead of something else. Thrash?

Metallica is considered the leader of the thrash movement, with Master of Puppets being their crown achievement. The album it's off of is a thrash album, and "Heavy Metal Ballad" isn't widely recognized as being an independent genre, so it's thrash. Besides that, the second half of the song is thrashier.

anyone know the b side of this? its just i read somewhere that there were no singles from MoP, and although the cover looks legit the b side(s) would help me to be sure that it is legit. thanks. The only legit single off MOP is the limited French 7" single of "Master of Puppets" released on Music For Nations/New Electric Way. The only legit promo off MOP is the US 12" of "Master of Puppets" released on Elektra. There are 2 variants of that promo, the difference being the matrix number ending in either SP or AR. That's it!
