I think this article should be renamed to Magnetic domain. It seems to be much more common term Julius Sahara 18:17, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Magnetic domain is much more common term. Info in WEiss domain should be added to "Magnetic Domain" as to give the origin of discovery.
I disagree, I think It should be called 'The magnetic domain theory'. This is what it is called under the UK General Certificate of Education (A-Level) syllabus for Physics.
- I disagree too, Weiss domains are sometimes used to describe domain structures in piezoelecticity, i.e. in ferroelectric material, but it would be incorrect to call such domains "magnetic domains". --Nathaniel 11:53, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
I agree with Julius, in school I was taught the term "Magnetic Domain".
I find it interesting that Kittel refers to "Weiss molecular field", but not Weiss domain. I agree that we have way too many overlapping articles on this subject. Wikfr (talk) 02:22, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
