Coelurosauravidae Preferable
[edit]Article should be returned to the original Coelurosauravidae on the basis of Evans and Haubold's conclusion that Weigeltisaurus jaekeli and Coelurosauravus are cogeneric and that Coelurosauravus Piveteau, 1926 has priority, making Weigelticeratidae a jr synomym for Ceolurosauravidae. Ceolurosauravidae is also the name given on the page from which this article is linked, therefor retaining the name would maintain consistancy.
Paleobiology Database is a good source for taxonomic information, but it is not necessarily the final say. This is due in part to the understanding and opinion of the person making the particular entry and whether or not there is new data necessitating revision, as seems to be this case.

- Okay, then. I will rename this article. I see your point. JRLivesey, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
- I moved this page back to Weigeltisauridae because, as Bulanov and Sennikov (2010) pointed out, it's against ICZN rules to rename a family because its type species was declared a junior synonym. Coelurosauravidae was named in 1982 whereas Weigeltisauridae was named in 1939, so it has priority. Smokeybjb (talk) 02:46, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
