[edit]The fact that he was in the Phineas Priesthood should be front and center - they objected on Christian Identity grounds to a specific Baptist policy of trying to convert Jews. Another "Phineas Priest" was Buford Furrow who shot up a Jewish daycare center. The Phineas Priests tie religion to racism explicitly, so the motivation was at least partly both racist and religious. This was covered by the Houston Chronicle (9/16/99) and by the LA Times (9/18/99 - http://articles.latimes.com/1999/sep/18/news/mn-11519/2). Martyrdom while killing the racial and religious enemy is part of the ideology of the Phineas Priests. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MarionADelgado (talk • contribs) 11:47, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
