@Gerda Arendt: regarding this reversion with the summary people go in the surname list, I do not think that is some consistent style or practice on Wikipedia. If we look at Washington, a disambiguation page, not only is George Washington individually listed at the very top among what the term most often refers to, the "People" section includes several individuals along with the Washington (name) link. To me, clearly the word "Waterhouse" very often or possibly most often (if not nearly always) refers to John William Waterhouse and a user who searches for "Waterhouse" should not have to pore through a linked page with a huge number of less significant names to find it. —DIYeditor (talk) 07:02, 19 March 2023 (UTC)

As you like it. I feel so for the other people the same - that a user should not need another click to find them, but treat them differently if you think that's fair. Actually, the most famous Waterhouse may be the one found directly most often, rather than on any dab. I ran into this because I couldn't remember his full name off hand, and was surprised that simply searching on Wikipedia for "Waterhouse" didn't give it to me. I actually thought for a second I had misremembered the last name, because it was so obvious that John William Waterhouse is what "Waterhouse" commonly means. I understand that google results vary, but [1] brings up almost entirely Waterhouse and his paintings. —DIYeditor (talk) 07:14, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
