Actually it's tricky trying to work out which is the best way to go with this, but there is obviously a large overlap between the two terms and how they are used. If you look at the wiktionary entries for waterhole and watering hole, they also overlap. What do people think about watering hole and water hole being covered in the same article, which is then the primary topic for the DAB, with appropriate redirects to this page? Else there is nothing covering the variety of types of waterholes that exist in the natural environment - whether animals drink from them or not relates to usage rather than the thing itself, surely?
