Class edits

[edit]

There is apparently a class assignment to edit this article. Class edits are welcome, but they must be sourced and focused on the town, its character, governance, economy and history. A lot of edits have inappropriately focused on individual, non-notable criminal cases, and some have been unreferenced and have mentioned living individuals. Articles on places should focus on places. If a crime is notable (as in significant enough to be included in a global encyclopedia), it should have its own article and not an article-length tangent, however well-sourced. Unfortunately, class assignments often do this sort of thing, adding trivia and marginally-related material without considering the article as an integrated, encyclopedic whole. Please coordinate your work, and focus on the town. It may be dull to write about major industries and demographics, but that's what articles on geographic locations should contain, not a detailed catalog of local crimes. Pictures would really be nice: free-content images that you took yourself describing the place are always welcome. A really good thing, and a good way to improve your research and referencing skills, would be to reference the content that's already in the article.

I'd be happy to discuss this with your instructor, and I'd be happy to discuss how you might outline and coordinate your work. This talkpage is here for that purpose. Acroterion (talk) 02:29, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

To other editors: please allow the class time to complete their edits, even if it looks hesitant and fragmentary. Acroterion (talk) 15:07, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
