2006.02.19 Commentary

Does anybody know where the 1915 Championships excerpt that was recently added under the athletics section should go? It seems out of place, maybe it should be moved to a seperate page called Wasington_State_University_1915_championships_debate or something. Also the link to the article mentioning the dispute is also out of place. Any ideas?

WSU Logo

I can't believe the Actual modern day logo for WSU isn't even displayed anywhere on the page. Archaic Traditions

Not to offend any loyal alums, but unless the archaic traditions of beanie-wearing and other freshmen initiation rituals are still continued today, they probably don't belong on this page. Most universities once had such traditions. Whateverlolawants (talk) 01:44, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Note that the redirect is only set for "Washington State" and not "Washington state". I don't see the problem here as it's incredibly common to shorten the name of institutions named "___ State University" to "___ State" (i.e. Michigan State University is almost always referred to as just "Michigan State"). There's also conversation regarding this on the Talk page of the redirect itself. In addition, your reference to this institution as "minor" strikes me as ignorant and biased. It is classified as a large, selective institution very high research activity with multiple branch campuses.

Finally, I ask that you not remove the statement in the article referencing the redirect unless you actually remove or change the redirect itself. --ElKevbo (talk) 10:18, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

Board of Regents

I have revised the subsection on the Board of Regents and provided a citation from the Daily Evergreen regarding the length of Regents' terms. Major Revisions

I'm contemplating undertaking a major revision of this article, as it needs serious work. The organization is shoddy, there is very little about the history of the school, next to nothing about academics, and far too much about athletics and traditions, most of which is trivial and unimportant. Basically, I am looking to bring this more in line with the WikiProject Guidlines for universities. I don't know how many people are watching this page, but input before I go around making serious changes would be appreciated. --Kearby (talk) 23:04, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
