I was adding content to the main article, but there were so many sources I decided to create a page. This topic is as least as noteworthy as the Washington Redskins Original Americans Foundation at this point, and I plan to add additional content.--WriterArtistDC (talk) 06:28, 16 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent job! Assessing it now for WP:NDN. I'd rate it higher but it needs to go through GA review for that. I think you've compiled everything available at this point. - CorbieV 18:56, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Listing campaign organizers

[edit]

First a disclosure that I built the websites for the campaign this article is about; COI notice added above. My apologies for not disclosing COI when I edited the article before, since I wasn't familiar with the guidelines. Regarding this edit, it seems that the sentence listing members of the Rising Hearts Coalition is intended to delineate the individuals behind the Washington Redhawks campaign. As such, I think it makes sense to include the web developer (myself) in that list, especially as the project was a partnership of Rising Hearts and other non-affiliated individuals, and that not all members of Rising Hearts participated in the project. Alternatively, it might be better to list the individuals of the Rising Hearts Coalition on a page about that organization and just remove the list from this article. 69.138.251.81 (talk) 20:52, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate your openness. That you are the individual being mentioned as the web developer confirms my decision to remove that sentence. My removal was made on the basis of the WP guideline on WP:notability. Individuals are not included unless they are important; my own criteria is that I do not mention anyone unless they also have their own WP article. Adding content about yourself is even more strongly forbidden by the guideline on self-promotion. (Famously, an individual is not allowed to edit the article about themselves.) I listed the members of the coalition of Native Americans, with their tribal affiliations, as indicative of this action being representative of their authentic voices. I was not listing all those involve with this particular action.--WriterArtistDC (talk) 23:37, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion

[edit]

After two years, I have come to the conclusion that I should not have created this article. While there were mentions in reliable sources, the action had no sustain presence, violating the guideline that WP is not the news, and now comes under the criteria of Wikipedia:Notability#SUSTAINED. While an encyclopedia must cover important scientific, cultural, and historical topics fully, not every topic is worthy of such treatment.

An alternative to deletion may be the expansion of the topic to include other proposed or fictitious rebranding of the DC NFL team, such as the "Washington Redclouds" in Minority Report (TV series). --WriterArtistDC (talk) 14:55, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The AfD has run its course with no consensus, with merge or keep favored equally while I am the only advocate for deletion.--WriterArtistDC (talk) 02:22, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
