[edit]I realise that I was supposed to have added a complete version of my Wikipedia article in my Sandbox for February 8, however I was not able to complete my article, so I will be turning this assignment in late. My complete Wikipedia article will be in my Sandbox on February 9. I have read the syllabus and I am aware that I will lose marks for finishing my article late. Savhosavkin (talk)
- I added my complete article to the Sandbox on the evening of the 8th, 20:25 Eastern Time (I realise that it is still late) Savhosavkin (talk) 01:25, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
Assessment of Article Draft
[edit]Revisions necessary
You're off to a good start, but you still have some work to do before moving your material over to mainspace.
- What is the distinction between "Early Life" and "Biography"? There seems to be some overlap in terms of content between these sections. I would suggest renaming the second section to be more specific, or just merging the two sections into one. Much of what you include in these sections also falls under "Career" (which again contains some overlap with these sections). You should consider reshuffling things a bit, and editing the content since some of it is repeated in several places. Make sure not to repeat yourself.
- You write that "Wang made her directorial debut in 1952 with an instructional video", but it could not have been video. I would simply write "instructional" or "educational" film.
- You don't need to include the date (January 1, for instance) as part of the date of publication for books.

[edit]Your lead is simple and concise, which I really appreciate. However, you discuss how Wang is considered to be the first female filmmaker of the People's Republic of China, which you also discuss in the last paragraph under the career category. I would pick one place for that fact, or at least edit your wording a bit as to not make the sentences identical. The biography section was short and sweet, and I edited a couple of your sentences that had more than one main idea in them, so it sounded better to split them up. Career portion was great, and though I would say that there is a fine line between giving enough background information and giving too much/cluttering the section with knowledge that would be better suited to a different Wikipedia article on that topic, I think that you balance the contextual facts and facts about Wang Ping pretty well. You always connect back, which is great. Good job! Deathsmoothies (talk) 04:42, 1 March 2016 (UTC) Deathsmoothies

[edit]Your project has a clear structure and detailed introduction of Wang Ping. You emphasize Wang Ping as the first female director in the People's Republic of China and her political standing. The part of Career since her childhood to her death time by time. There is a specific filmography of Wang Ping that both as actress and director. The table is so clearly with Chinese and English title. Moreover, the Chinese PinYin of English titles have different tones. But it hard to spell exactly for foreign readers. In general,it is a good Wikipedia project that help readers know specifically of woman director Wang Ping. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DDOONNGG (talk • contribs) 17:13, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
