[edit]I am the great-grandson of Walter Rogers Tranter. He seems to have quit the sport because of the birth of his son Walter Frederick Tranter, who was my grandfather. Nobody in the family since then has shown any talent for football, though we've got a few good swimmers, including Alyson Jones, Commonwealth Games bronze medallist. WR and son moved to Middlesbrough. His wife Hannah died a few years later and he remarried twice with one more child, a daughter. Walter Frederick had a son, Walter Dennis (Uncle Dennis to me) but thankfully after that the "Walter" chain was broken.
I don't have much more to add about Walter Rogers Tranter, (except he has a bad rep in the family) but who knows what I might find out.Djdaedalus (talk) 16:43, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
