Persecutor...
[edit]"He applied for recognition as a persecutor of National Socialist tyranny" in the Return to Germany section - surely he thought he was persecuted, not a persecutor? Ealdgyth - Talk 13:18, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
- It is indeed awkwardly written. I assumed that the editor who added it meant to say something on the order of "He applied for recognition by the Allies as a person who fought against (i.e. 'persecuted') Nazi tyranny", but it could just as easily mean "He applied for recognition by the Allies as a persecuted victim of Nazi tyranny." Without a source, I don't know which is historically appropriate. Beyond My Ken (talk) 19:04, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
- Yeah, I wasn't sure what was meant either. Guess I'd better go digging and see if I can find something that sources this... Ealdgyth - Talk 19:43, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
