I’m a member of an astronomy-club in Flanders Belgium. This club is a department of Vlaamse Vereniging Sterrenkunde www.vvs.be ). I was, during many years a school-principal. The club has her monthly meetings in my school. In september 2017, I retired from school. Long time ago, in March 1986 , Walter Peeters came to our school and gave a presentation. It was about the European spacecraft Giotto. This satellite flew by and studied Halley’s comet. At that time Mr. Peeters worked at the European Space Agency. The children were very enthusiastic about his comments and insights. For me, I was fascinated by his explanation and the way he could inspire our young pupils. I followed his career – he became president of the prestigious International Space University in Strasbourg (France). So, I'm new on Wikipedia.

Big improvements, good work! I have removed the tags at the top of the page as they have largely been addressed. The section on early life and education needs references, as does his awards. In case you haven't found it yet, RefToolBar is a good tool to use for inserting full and properly formatted references. For example, I just used it to expand the Irish Examiner reference that you used, by adding the authors name, article date and link to the publication's article.
