When I drafted the Bridge section for this article yesterday, I also revised it to use the English alphabet (Anschluss, baton, regime). The first matches the redirect of target article. The latter are ordinary English words; if foreign characters are restored then italics are appropriate.
While I would write "Walter Herbert (born Seligmann ...", I retained but corrected the French née=>né and added the wikilink that I judge necessary for many native-language English, at least Americans. People (Americans?) who follow the link will learn something. Those who don't follow will see the correct French, an improvement. (née is the worst of the four alternatives and the only one I cannot abide, although I doubt that ne will long survive other editors) --P64 (talk) 15:55, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
