Durhamstown Castle
[edit]Does anybody have a citation to support Essex's ownership of Durhamstown Castle in Meath? His letters were frequently written from 'Durham House' and according to Walter Bourchier Lives and Letters of the Devereux, Earls of Essex(page 127 on Google Books) Durham House was the former residence of the bishops of Durham.
