No idea about Odets' psychology career but he was at one time also a very accomplished watchmaking enthusiast. He ran the timezone.com watchmaker school for a number of years, and did a number of watch reviews on that site (some notorious) where he completely dismantled ultra-expensive Swiss watches including a $100,000 Lange tourbillon, photographed each of the little springs and gears under a microscope, and commented on the quality of the finishing and mechanisms. He caused an industry shake-up when he reviewed a fancy Rolex where he said that the visible parts (case, dial, etc.) were beautifully made, but posted photos of the disassembled mechanism showing that the internal parts were crap. I will leave it to the wiki police to decide if there is good enough secondary sourcing to include this stuff in his wiki biography. His original writings and reader responses afaik are still on timezone. 2601:644:8501:AAF0:0:0:0:9BB0 (talk) 08:24, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
