[edit]This entire article about a Walpole Census Designated Place (CDP) is based on false information from an insufficient source. In fact, there is no Walpole (CDP). A Walpole (CDP) cannot exist because it would violate the criteria the US Census Bureau uses to define CDPs. "Census Bureau criteria and guidelines specify that CDPs:
- Cannot be partially or entirely within an incorporated place or another CDP.
- May not have the same name as an adjacent or nearby incorporated place." [1]
I recently edited the introduction to state the fact that the town of Walpole is fully incorporated and there is no CDP of the same name within the town. I realize now that could be even more confusing to readers, and a better move would be to remove the page entirely. I am new to editing and am posting here because cannot find a mechanism to propose deletion. Vertical0756 (talk) 20:21, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- I started an WP:Articles for deletion proposal for you, before I realized there are other CDPs within towns, e.g. Walpole (CDP), New Hampshire, plus there is a US Census entry for Walpole CDP, Massachusetts, so I undid your changes. Clarityfiend (talk) 23:01, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
