Walgalu - language group or people?

[edit]

Shane Mortimer told the National Indigenous Times in 2012 that Walgalu is a language, and that Ngambri and Ngurmal speak Walgalu.[1]

Is this page then mistitled (perhaps should be titled 'Walgalu language')?

On the flip side, I have seen that some books exist that may have answers:

  • David Keany (1986), The Walgalu Tribe: An Illustrated Study of Their Material Culture
  • J. Flood (1980), The Moth Hunters, Australian Institute of Aboriginal Studies

Would be very interested to hear other people's thoughts. Clare. (talk) 05:53, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mortimer is notable in his own right, but the opinion he states is meaningless, esp since Walgalu is a dead language. Nishidani (talk) 09:21, 8 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
