The result of the move request was: Speedy moved. Should never have been unilaterally moved against prior RM consensus. King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 22:18, 23 June 2020 (UTC)

- @Marcocapelle and Ammarpad: queried move request Anthony Appleyard (talk) 08:14, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
- I am hesitant on actioning this request because the move was done in February 2019, over a year and a half ago. Things might have changed since then. The current logo in the article and some source also relflect the current title. I am not objecting though if someone feels it's OK to revert. – Ammarpad (talk) 08:00, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose - the current title accurately reflects the company name and is present on all its merchandising and advertisements. "Waitrose" can remain as a redirect which should overcome any navigation problems. Velella Velella Talk 08:22, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
- Support per WP:COMMONNAME. As the article itself says, the company is
usually referred to simply as "Waitrose"
. The rationale for moving from Waitrose wasOfficialy rebranded
, but that change has not been reflected in the terminology used by customers, press or public. Some companies need a longer title like Apple Inc. to disambiguate from another topic; that's not the case here. Certes (talk) 11:00, 19 June 2020 (UTC) - Support per WP:COMMONNAME. It is not true that the full name "is present on all its merchandising and advertisements" - my loyalty card for example. Media references are nearly always just to "Waitrose". Johnbod (talk) 03:14, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- Support as most coverage omits the "& Partners" bit, the COMMONNAME is without.--Bob not snob (talk) 08:21, 21 June 2020 (UTC)

Store Closures
[edit]Is this section really necessary? New stores open and close all the time. Sure, you can find plenty of (local) coverage whenever it happens, but it is a pretty common event and coverage will be of the routine sorts. 192.76.8.70 (talk) 22:09, 17 June 2022 (UTC)
- The section seems a little undue, certainly. The article cites a few sources covering multiple closures due to economic difficulties of one sort or another, which probably isn't 'routine', but that doesn't really justify a list in my opinion. AndyTheGrump (talk) 23:03, 17 June 2022 (UTC)
- I agree that they deserve a mention as part of a broader discussion of their financial difficulties. 192.76.8.70 (talk) 09:35, 18 June 2022 (UTC)
- Agree this isn't encyclopedic. Crookesmoor (talk) 08:57, 5 January 2023 (UTC)
- +1 it isn't encyclopaedic. Puffin123 (talk) 20:39, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
- I rather disagree, but it is a pity closures and openings aren't taken together, for a true picture. This gets a lot of coverage in national press when there is a constent trend. Johnbod (talk) 18:30, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
