Cover art
[edit]Why some person don't understand that this cover is fake. It's not official, it was found on some random website and just looks like it's fan made work. I think that this photo needs to be deleted. On Wikipdia there needs to be only official informations and this cover is clearly a fan-made work ! Take this seriously. - We are "taking this seriously". I looked into it because there was a lot of back and forth on a few of these covers. I asked the uploader for clarification at User talk:QuintusPetillius#Foo Fighters images. They had a lengthy explanation. I need you to do the same - discuss this so we can get to the bottom of this. You removed the cover without any explanation at all. You need to use edit summaries. Sergecross73 msg me 12:57, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
- Exactly correct, somebody keeps putting it back up on the page despite it clearly bearing no resemblance to anything officially released by the band at any point in their entire active tenure. This song was released in 2019, yet this "cover art" features a concert photo from 2008 (of only Dave, might I add), with a basic Microsoft Word font overlaying a corner of the actual album cover, much resembling a YouTube thumbnail. It's quite mind boggling that this has become such a polarizing issue when this artwork is clearly not official, but one single person seems to disagree for some reason. 47.149.99.248 (talk) 07:14, 11 October 2023 (UTC)
- Slight mistake here, my bad. The song was RECORDED in 2019, but released in 2021, which is even worse considering the image of Dave whoever made that thing used. 47.149.99.248 (talk) 07:24, 11 October 2023 (UTC)
- The Waiting On A War cover art does also resemble part of the album artwork.QuintusPetillius (talk) 17:31, 11 October 2023 (UTC)
- No, it has a cropped corner of the actual artwork itself, much like a YouTube thumbnail. I don’t know why or how it’s so difficult to understand that this isn’t official foo fighters single artwork man come on 47.149.99.248 (talk) 18:59, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
- I do admit, I am intrigued by your observation that it's a picture of Grohl from a decade prior. I do find it hard to understand why they would chose such an old image to be on a modern single cover. Even if you were hypothetically incorrect in your image identification, it still remains that the image is clearly of a much younger Grohl from a different album era...
