The use of the word 'myth' here is unfortunate:
... they have been widely dismissed as a myth by conventional scholars.
Because this exactly what is being discussed, the founding myths of the Waitaha. Using 'myth' as a synonym for 'lie' in this context is not sensible. Actually I don't think it's sensible anywhere. I have changed it to inaccurate. hypotaxis (talk) 23:46, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
