2023 Season
[edit]Has it been confirmed anywhere that the championship has folded as stated on the main page? I know it seems very unlikely that it'd continue at this point but I can't find anything confirming it.--DxnM99 (talk) 09:35, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
- I can't find anything confirming the folding of the series, either. In my opinion, all edits about it being a former series should be reverted until there is a reliable source that confirms its folding. Miggie H (talk) 11:11, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
- Agreed, per WP:CRYSTAL. We shouldn't presume, no matter how likely. Bakkster Man (talk) 14:04, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
- No sources has been confirmed yet that the series couldn't return. I'm less likely saying it could be a while until the financial issue to settled. --Happiness is Simple (talk) 22:56, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
- I added a recent source in April 2023, a news article stating that the series was unlikely to return in 2023. As there has been no official confirmation about it being folded so far, there is no way of knowing what's going to happen to it in 2024. In my opinion, we should not describe it as a former series as long as its folding hasn't been confirmed by official and/or reliable sources. Miggie H (talk) 09:06, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
Teams
[edit]Who is running the cars at the race meeting? This is not mentioned anywhere. --Falcadore (talk) 01:31, 8 May 2019 (UTC)
- There are no teams. The cars are identical and are provided by the series. Each car has its own mechanic and they are rotated at random between races, but that's the closest there is to "teams". Falastur2 Talk 16:54, 8 May 2019 (UTC)
- Just because there are no teams, that does not magically remove the need for mechanics to run the cars. So I will ask again. Who is running the cars at the race meeting? This is not mentioned anywhere. --Falcadore (talk) 12:30, 9 May 2019 (UTC)
- User:Falastur2? --Falcadore (talk) 06:00, 30 May 2019 (UTC)
- I know roughly how the system works because my friend told it to me. That doesn't really make me well-placed to actually edit it into the article. I would prefer that someone with proper subject knowledge, who could find some probably referable citations, made the edit. Falastur2 Talk 16:33, 30 May 2019 (UTC)

Proposed merge (2020): of 2020 W Series into W Series (championship)

The 2020 season has been cancelled, so no need for a separate article for this non season Joseph2302 (talk) 20:53, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose Other articles of sports events that have been cancelled for this year have not been merged (just see the Category:Sports events cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.) Don't see any exceptional reason to merge here, there's plenty of content. Games of the world (talk) 22:02, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
- WP:OSE, in my view most of those should be merged (and lots of them are just redirects anyway). But focusing on this article, it mentions that you can get FIA Super Licence, which is in the parent article, it has a driver list, which doesn't matter (because none of them raced), and a calendar, which doesn't matter (because it's not happening). This doesn't meet the standard of WP:NSEASONS now that it isn't going to occur. Joseph2302 (talk) 22:28, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
- It's a fine line for NSeasons, I think it probably is just on the right side of notablity for it in terms of sourced prose (it says that it should not be a stat list and should have stand alone prose, which this does, possibly expand the qualifier test). However, Seasons doesn't say what to do with a cancelled season. Many of those redirects simply say x event on this day at this place. Def champ is....So rightfully redirected. However this has more information than that. Let's see what others have to say instead of dominating proceedings. Games of the world (talk) 22:58, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose There's unique content to the 2020 season page which would be inappropriate to merge into this page (namely selection of drivers). If this content ends up carrying forwards into 2021, then I think the 2021 page would be a more appropriate location to merge into. Bakkster Man (talk) 16:32, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose per Bakkster Man. He just wrote what I think.Rpo.castro (talk) 11:32, 12 June 2020 (UTC)

W Series Esports League
[edit]Someone needs to start the W Series Esports League articles 2020 W Series Esports League, which replaced the W Series for 2020. -- 65.92.244.147 (talk) 06:34, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
- Ignoring the fact that no one needs to do anything. Are we sure this satisfies the notability criteria?
SSSB (talk) 08:00, 19 November 2020 (UTC)- Strong oppose- it's bad enough we have an article for a cancelled season, which has a mention of the esports tournament. Having another article for the esports replacement races would be crazy, as they don't pass WP:GNG. Joseph2302 (talk) 15:46, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
