The title was unified
[edit]X-pac went on to lose the Cruiserweight title back to Kidman as well as later lose the light heavyweight title to Tajiri and win it back. While X-Pac was off television for backstage issues the title was simply abandoned. It was mentioned on screen by Foley before Armaggedon of 2001 when the rest of the titles were merged in unification matches. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 63.249.27.66 (talk) 22:39, 3 May 2007 (UTC).
- Per Wikipedia policy, material has not been verified be a reliable source is considered original research, which is not allowed under any surcomstances in an article. You have failed to provide a notable source that cleary states that the titles were not unified. WWE.com official states in this link that the titles were in fact unified after Kidman's defeat.-- bulletproof 3:16 00:06, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
- OK, how about this... WWE.com also officially states [1] that on 8/6/01 the Light Heavyweight Title was won by Tajiri, who defeated X-Pac for the belt. There is no corresponding [2] Cruiserweight Title change on that date, and that's because Tajiri defeated X-Pac (who was Light Heavyweight and Cruiserweight champion) for just the former title. The belts were briefly unified, but X-Pac carried around both belts and simply lost one of them.
- Tajiri lost the Light Heavyweight Title back to X-Pac on 8/19/01 [3], making X-Pac a double-champion again until he lost the Cruiserweight Title to Billy Kidman [4] on 10/11/01. As WWE.com lists X-Pac as being the last Light Heavyweight Champion, we know that Kidman didn't win both belts. Tajiri ultimately won the title from Kidman [5], and after Survivor Series, it was uncertain for awhile whether the Light Heavyweight Title or the Cruiserweight Title would be the one continuing to be used.
- But as X-Pac was injured around this time, ultimately Tajiri returned to television, carrying around the old WCW Cruiserweight Title, but renamed to the WWE Cruiserweight Title. This happened on 12/11/01. [6] Eventually they changed the belt to its current appearance, although even as late as Hurricane's win on 5/16/02 [7] you can see that it's still the old WCW belt. (Jamie Noble is pictured with the new belt [8] for his following reign; if I recall correctly the belt's appearance was changed shortly after Hurricane won the title.)
- When X-Pac returned to television shortly after WrestleMania X-8 as part of the nWo, he didn't bring the Light Heavyweight Title with him, and it was ultimately considered to be abandoned. ekedolphin 19:48, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
WWF and the J-Crown
[edit]Could someone take out the J-Crown reings? All the champions who held the title before Michinoku aren't recognized by the WWE.Atleast don't put on the record/statistics list.--Justakija (talk) 18:26, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- We are an encylopedia. We publish what is fact. Those reigns occurred, that is a fact. WWE not recognizing them does not change that today.--WillC 21:06, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Weight Limit
