Origin of name
I added the reference to "Wire & Plastic Products" on the authority of this article from The New Yorker (the issue of March 28, 2005). It would be good if someone could elaborate on how that name came to be applied to an ad agency conglomerate. JamesMLane 17:46, 23 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Maxus
The maxus link is misleading [1] [2] I better do not offer to help, it might remain a promise I can't keep. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.0.84.233 (talk) 12:20, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
Moved HQ to Dublin
Seems crazy, but the HQ moved to Dublin technically in September 2008 for tax reasons. I have adjusted HQ and added as a Dublin cat company - Rgds, --86.150.188.24 (talk) 03:13, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
- What does the "technically" mean? Is the HQ in Dublin or not? Would the company like to comment on the "for tax reasons"? What is being implied by that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.189.103.145 (talk) 19:40, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Beware of PR professionals abusing wikipedia
Given that a number of the IPs that have edited this article can be shown to belong to companies that are part of the WPP Group, e.g. mediaedge [3], Walter Thompson [4], HeathWallace [5], Red Dot Square Solutions [6], or to other parties that have professional interests, as Fidelity Investments, showing here [7], we should be careful. Niall Cook openly admits on his user page to be director of marketing technology for the PR firm Hill & Knowlton, which also belongs to the WPP Group. He keeps contributing to wikipedia. As this edit reveals, he sometimes uses an IP that can be tracked back to Hill & Knowlton. On top of obscene vandalism, the IP was found to use wikipedia for whitewashing the government of the Maldives that had hired his firm for improving its reputation that had been harmed by human rights violations. [8] [9] [10] [11]
There may be more users with IPs or with names that use wikipedia articles related to Hill & Knowlton or its customers in order to present them in a favorable light. Knopffabrik (talk) 15:58, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
