I'm not sure why this article is named as it is. Rayward always goes by W. Boyd Rayward. If you Google that instead of the article title it should be much more apparent that he's an easy pass for WP:ACADEMIC. He's cited many hundreds of times per Google Scholar and returns 40k GBooks hits (which may be an error -- that seems a little crazy), has publihed a couple well-known and influential books (as the foremost authority on Paul Otlet), served in leadership positions in several respected professional organizations, etc. I only did some basic clean-up and indeed there are significant problems with the article as it is -- but not a delete case. --— Rhododendritestalk | 04:42, 26 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

. the Rayward article needs expansion--the information now there does not show notability. But his faculty page and especially his [1] cv] shows he's notable --he was dean of the most important US library school (Chicago, till it closed), and emeritus Professor the one of the best of the surviving ones (Illinois). Worldcat shows several books written, several edited, a considerable number of important special issues edited, and a few dozen articles in the best journals in the field. Some of the books have significant holdings for works in this field. Worldcat shows one book review--there are undoubtedly others. (I do not think that on the basis of his published work he can be safely can be called best known as an expert on Otlet. He wrote an almost unknown book & avery good journal article; even he admits in ref 1 that his is not the major biography.) I'd say he is best known as an historian of information science. The usual way to expand this is first a chronological summary of his career, second a list of published books, with book reviews noted. DGG ( talk ) 04:20, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
