Fair use rationale for Image:W.A. Criswell.jpg
[edit]Image:W.A. Criswell.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
"felt the divine call"? You've got to be kidding me. This is seriously in need of a re-write to make it factual rather than laudatory. 75.191.151.75 (talk) 05:50, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

It should be noted that someone repeatedly goes through this article and scrubs it both of well-documented information, including to references to the W.A. Criswell Sermon Library itself, AND of the statement that it has been censored. Edallan (talk) 07:20, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
Hostility towards desegregation
[edit]Reference to article by Curtis Freeman included in discussion of Criswell's theology to provide some balance to an article apparently written by Criswell disciples. Edallan (talk) 02:13, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- People often point out that Criswell made some remarks in defense of segregation to the South Carolina legislature in 1956. That's true enough as far as it goes, but it's not the whole story. Twelve years later, Criswell recanted his support for segregation. During his service as SBC president, he urged Southern Baptist churches to open their doors to people of all races.76.6.217.8 (talk) 21:04, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
Politics
[edit]The section originally began with the sentence: "Criswell sometimes got involved in political campaigns." Left unadorned, with no mention of his significant hostility towards the involvement of American Catholics in the American political system, as documented in the article cited from Baptist History and Heritage, this statement is grossly misleading.
