This article should not be speedy deleted because...

[edit]

I contest this speedy deletion, since this band has over 4 studio albums, has toured the U.S., and has been featured on a movie soundtrack. Although they may not be world famous, like metallica, there are other bands in this genre that have wikipedia articles, and have fewer accomplishments. --Aphelionseven (talk) 07:38, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please review the notability guidelines at WP:MUSIC and add the appropriate references to the article. If the subject meets the guidelines, the article will stay, no problem. Otherwise, it may still be deleted by an admin. XXX antiuser eh? 07:40, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Currently, this band meets criteria 5 (Having released their 5th studio album on Vendetta records, and independent label representing 28 artists), criteria 10 (having a song on the soundtrack to the motion picture The Collector). Even though these are met, not meeting them should not automatically mark an article for deletion.Aphelionseven (talk) 07:47, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

On an entirely unrelated note, entropy always increases 1, so in the end your goal will be accomplished. --43?9enter ☭msg☭contribs 07:47, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Re. Criterion 5: "Has released two or more albums on a major label or on one of the more important indie labels" - this is not met. By "important indie labels" I would assume at the very least the label would have their own article on WP. As for criterion 10, "Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g. a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a notable compilation album, etc", the tracklist for the soundtrack for that movie credits the track to another artist (featuring W.A.S.T.E.), which I would consider as not meeting the criterion. Re. The Collector Soundtrack: The credits to Combichrist was an error. The original song, Shut Up And Bleed, was written by W.A.S.T.E and was released on their album This Is What We Seek. This track was then remixed by Combichrist, and submitted to the soundtrack. But the song remains the property of W.A.S.T.E. Please see the attached references to their albums. --72.199.144.9 (talk) 19:57, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

W.A.S.T.E. is credited as the original author of the track on Combichrist's Wikipedia page as well. In addition, the band W.A.S.T.E. now links to this page from Combichrist --Aphelionseven (talk) 20:32, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I understand. However the problem here is that as far as Wikipedia is concerned, verifiability comes before truth. If the only available reference says the track is by Combichrist featuring W.A.S.T.E., then that's what the article needs to say. Anything else would be Original Research.
