Reference
[edit]Flores? Can the precise reference be added in the Bibliography section? Cheers! Tazmaniacs 15:34, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- The author is Fernando Flores, but since the reference is a quote of a quote, then it needs to be clarified. Will look it up. Thanks for pointing it out. Mel Romero 13:55, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Keynesian?
[edit]Allende`s economic plan was clearly a marxist oriented strategy, although it may not have seemed that way at first, I think is very misleading to call it "keynesian" when he dint believed in private property nor private enterprise. Agrofelipe (talk) 04:51, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Frozing of prices
[edit]Are you sure the frozing of prices wasn't part of the initial plan of the UP?
If I remember correctly the frozing of prices in Chile, that kept them artificially low, combined with the increase of currency was a key part of the hyperinflation in Allende`s government and the chilean economic crisis. Agrofelipe (talk) 05:10, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
About the neutrality of this article
[edit]Heya, this article points at the Vuskovic Plan and Allende's socialist economic policy as the only responsibles for the 1973 Chilean economy's collapse! I think it should make more emphasis in other points like the crack of copper price in the early 70's and the total dependence Chilean economy had from this product, the American boycott to Chilean economy and the support and economic help the USA gave to the strike made in the early Allende's period by the employers of transport enterprises, which was the actual kick-off of the stockout in Chilean supermarkets and the uprising inflation of the economy in the early 70's. I mean, this collapse could have also happened in a capitalist-oriented country because there were other causes of the crisis outside the Vuskovic Plan that led to it. Okay, the Vuskovic Plan failed in some parts and that was one of the causes of the crisis, but the Plan didn't failed by itself, but because of some external causes (some of the intentional, some not) which also helped by themselves the Chilean collapse of 1973... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.134.36.175 (talk) 19:14, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
