I'll add some appropriate photos (of mine) to this page in coming weeks. I would have wikified my contributions but am not very good at that, so if someone could that'd be great! 203.173.21.98 10:29, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

John Grindell

[edit]

The story regarding John Grindell (Worturpa station) and George Snell (Yankaninna station) seems to be a very muddled one. Warren Bonython's book and the Royal Geographical Society pamphlets say that Snell suspected Grindell of rustling Yankaninna stock, and that Grindell murdered him for this knowledge. Adrian Heard's book and the online page from southaustralianhistory.com.au say that Grindell suspected Snell of rustling Worturpa stock, and murdered him in revenge. The book Cloud over the Gammon Ranges is referenced more than once as a story of these accounts, but I can't find this book in any libraries, so I'm a little confused about what happened short of delving into the microfilm and newspaper accounts. Until I do, I've tried to be ambiguous here and used the online source as that is by far the most detailed and apparently valid account. Itsonlyme 12:09, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Found the book. Grindell suspected Snell.

Hi Cyberbot II, the citation which was confirmed as being 'true' above has been replaced with a new citation from Birdlife international. Regards Cowdy001 (talk) 08:46, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
