Ross Von Erich

[edit]

I don't know if the fact Ross is CONSIDERING entering the ring is enough to warrant it being mentioned on WIkipeida. Thoughts?Unopeneddoor (talk) 06:13, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jack

[edit]

Added the first heir to the Von Erich's. Although he died early, he was still a Frit'z son, and deserves more than a simple mentioning on Kevin's section. At least, that's how I see it.

World Heavyweight Championship (Wequetequock version)?

[edit]

The "Championships and accomplishments" section of this article claims that Fritz Von Erich won a version of the World Heavyweight Championship recognized in Wequetequock. Can we find a source for this, maybe a championship history? It doesn't even appear to be listed on the Fritz Von Erich article. Jeff Silvers (talk) 03:44, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mike Von Erich

[edit]

The entry on Mike implies that he only became a wrestler on account of David's death. He actually made his debut in late 1983, on one of the "Wrestling Star Wars" shows at Reunion Arena. It was strictly an undercard match, though there was a limited amount of fanfare accompanying it on account of being his debut (and it was also televised). Perhaps what is meant is that Mike was suddenly thrust into the spotlight after David's death, despite being extremely skinny and green compared to his brothers. While I'm at it...

[edit]

This article could also use a coherent explanation of just how and why "Adkisson" became "Von Erich". Since I'm referring to events of the 1950s, I dunno how easy it will be. As far as I've pieced it together, Jack Adkisson began wrestling in Dallas under his real name, shortly after he first established a name for himself on the SMU football team. Not long after, he left to go work for Stu Hart, who paired him with a local boy. They became the local version of what was at the time a popular intersection of two separate wrestling gimmicks, the Nazi gimmick and the brother tag team gimmick (see the Von Brauners, Von Steigers, etc.). What isn't as clear: when Fritz returned to Texas a decade-plus later, he was still playing the Nazi wrestling character, despite being known in Texas as a local athletic hero. David's death and later related events had the effect of driving home the obvious differences between the Von Erich character and the real-life Adkissons in the public's eyes. How was this perceived (or even blissfully ignored) by the fans during "the kayfabe years"? RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 08:58, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fritz was only a heel in Texas for a couple of years before he and Waldo got into a feud with manager Playboy Gary Hart in 1967. While Waldo drifted away and back to being a Nazi heel, Fritz carried on as a bible-bashing babyface. Eventually it was acknowledged that Fritz Von Erich was Jack Adkisson and it was explained that after Jack Jr's real life death, Jack wanted to kill himself and so reinventing himself as Fritz was originally an act of self-hate and suicide-by-proxy (he deliberately adopted a poor taste gimmick in the hope of getting murdered by fans.) Eventually he discovered God and the fans and became the more familiar Fritz, but kept the name and passed the surname on to his sons. This comes from WWE's Von Erich/World Class DVD and it may be a shoot as much as the kayfabe explanation. 62.190.148.115 (talk) 16:41, 7 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Mike Von Erich wrestled Steve Austin?

[edit]

"On occasion, he and his brothers Mike or Kevin wrestled tag-team matches against Percy Pringle and Steve Austin, but Chris only wrestled Pringle, while the much more athletic Mike or Kevin wrestled Austin."
Austin debuted in 1989, Mike died in 1987.So this is clearly not true. HappHazzard (talk) 20:41, 30 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You can go ahead and fix it if you feel like it.★Trekker (talk) 21:17, 30 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Error: David's daughter Zoeanna

[edit]

David Von Erich's daughter died in infancy, and this is not noted on the family tree. Information can be found here: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/60312839/natosha-zoeanna-adkisson

Her death is in fact mentioned in other related areas on wikipedia — Preceding unsigned comment added by Slomo4 (talkcontribs) 19:24, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Kerry Von Erich committing suicide because of a geographical dispute ???

[edit]

This sentence:

"Kerry committed suicide via a .44 caliber gunshot to the heart on February 18, 1993 on his father's ranch in Van Zandt County, Texas due to popular belief the actual ranch is not in Denton County but in fact it is located in Chandler, Texas."

... needs sorting out. It sounds wierd, like he killed himself because of where his father's ranch was. I expect that what happned was that two sentences were badly edited into one. Anyway, it needs sorting out. 62.190.148.115 (talk) 16:00, 7 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
