Proposed section

[edit]

I think this article needs a section listing the changes/differences in the plot of the original series and this adaptation. Access Control Allow Origin (talk) 12:17, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No because its trivial. You don't see that kind of trivial information in the Wikipedia of Marvel movies and tv series.TheHotwiki (talk) 12:19, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that's fair justification. And it's not trivial. Plus in Marvel articles in particular, there is often an "In other media" section explaning the adaptational differences between the original and the derivative.
Access Control Allow Origin (talk) 12:49, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
On the other hand, there are already articles that have this, like the Encantadia article.
Access Control Allow Origin (talk) 12:50, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Your proposed section is UNNECCESSARY. Example: The Transformers live-action film series vs. the animated TV series (both of which are based on the Transformers toy line). No such comparison is made between the film series and the animated TV series. iamdumdum (talk) 08:58, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on the production section

[edit]

I believe this section lacks that of the information that we have gathered from people inside. Such as the concept art of the boazanian army shown to us by noel layon flores, Depicting the boazanian army to have actual tails accurate as to their anime counterparts. And other information and clips that we're shown in trailers that were not shown in the series. Such as the "Mechanical Eagle" That actually looked like an eagle, and the original design for the cbf island. 136.158.122.212 (talk) 08:28, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Information gathered from the inside" would be original research and would need to satisfy WP:VERIFY, meaning information should also be mentioned/published in an attributable source such as published articles, books for public consumption, etc. Interpretation by fans of published media (trailers, clips from YouTube) would also fall under original researchHariboneagle927 (talk) 13:29, 28 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Japanese release

[edit]

As per MOS:TVINTL, adding the Japan release in prose is not indiscriminate since the series was based on an IP of a Japanese company (Toei) who by the way had consultancy role in the production of Voltes V: Legacy. The provision on the English release does not apply here but it is reasonable to think that this is one of these "special cases", Philippine production with Japanese assistance released in the Philippines, later re-released in Japan in a modified way.

And from the rough translation, from my understanding the Japanese TV series release will be compressed to a 20-episode series and will cover the plot after whatever conspired in the Ultra Electromagnetic Edition. So it is not exactly a straight-up rebroadcasting of the same material aired in the PhilippinesHariboneagle927 (talk) 09:55, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is Tokyo MX even related to Toei Companym? What if this series airs in more Japanese Tv networks, are you going to add them as well just because the originating IP is from Japan, despite having no direct impact to the series? Hotwiki (talk) 10:33, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Hariboneagle927: are you not even gonna answer my questions, since I didn't revert your most recent edits in this article. I would revert your most recent edits, if you don't answer my questions and issues regarding your edits. Hotwiki (talk) 06:43, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not here 24/7, I do not appreciate your passive aggressiveness. Back at you. You do not even address my point that it is not a plain rebroadcast, its a 20-episode version of the Philippine release. Releases inherently do not have impact on the final material. Since its a finished product being "released". We are working what's best for this article. MOS:TVINTL, does not explicitly favor your position of excluding any Japanese release in Japan at all vs my position (and the IPs prior to me) that it is appropriate to include the very first release in Japan. That is why talk pages exist.
Of course not. You have just presumed I will add the other Japanese networks, the first network in Japan to air this will be a milestone. Same goes if these series somehow got reaired in TV5 or any local network here in the Philippines. You are twisting my position to the most bad faith version you could muster - indiscriminately adding every future broadcast. As for Tokyo MX relation to Toei, the style guide does allow for mention of syndications.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 07:05, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm asking you again, is Tokyo MX - related to TOEI Animation? Thats a simple yes and no. Also being broadcast outside of the Philippines isn't new especially plenty of GMA Network shows have been broadcast in a lot of countries. This Japan broadcast of Voltes V Legacy should only be highlighted in this article when it becomes a notable show in Japan, and that hasn't even happened yet. Hotwiki (talk) 07:19, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No and it is not relevant in my opinion. Nothing in policy explicitly states that Tokyo MX have to be related to TOEI. Tokyo MX is just a distributor. And I am aware of the broadcast of GMA shows abroad, which by the way unlike this show are wholly a local production with no foreign studio consultation. It does not make sense to mention a Khmer release in Cambodia of a standard local GMA production. I will have to disagree with this interpretation. Hariboneagle927 (talk) 07:32, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So Tokyo MX is not even related to Toei Animation. Thank you for answering my question. So this Japan broadcast is just like any of non-notable international broadcast of a GMA Network series. Hotwiki (talk) 07:39, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You are ignoring the fact that the series' Japan-ties, and its not some superficial link that the series was shot in some foreign country. You have already decided an answer, and I suppose you know full well I won't budge on this and will have second opinion on this. While caution against indiscriminate info should be standard, I find your take to be too rigid and very uncompromising Hariboneagle927 (talk) 07:20, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Being a network from Japan, doesn't automatically make it notable especially its not related to Toei Animation (the owner of Voltes V) in the first place. What you posted about Tokyo MX literally falls under fancruft. Hotwiki (talk) 07:27, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Come on, you are being bad faith by labelling my stance as fancruft. Your criteria of TV network-studio ownership is just as arbitrary as mine. I double checked again, and Toei has stakes in Tokyo MX, or are we going to set another new goalpost?Hariboneagle927 (talk) 09:10, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I asked you a question, if Tokyo MX is related to Toei Animation and you said "No".[1]. What I said wasn't a goalpost, as I was just repeating what you said. Hotwiki (talk) 13:05, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
