Deletion?
[edit]I believe the content that did nothing but promote the entity described has been deleted.
Again I object to the deletion of the article. As for evicence of notabilty, it is the only windmill in the state of New Jersey. It might not be a Registered historic site but never-the-less it is a museum. As a cultural and educational institution albeit a small and odd one, it should be deemed as notable on Wikipedia. "The windmill is a living museum which demonstrates an authentic model of a mill driven by wind, used for grinding raw grain into flour. The sixty foot structure is seven stories high with sail arms sixty-eight feet from tip to tip." .[1] Also the Volendam Windmill is listed on Hunterdon County Website. It was chosen to be listed there by Hunterdon County Cultural & Heritage Commission a county body that the Board of Chosen Freeholders created by resolution according to State Statute on January 1, 1971.[2] Listing institutions like the Volendam Windmill on wikipedia raises awarness of local history and heritage, supports local economy, and in a way preserves the rural landscape and character of Hunterdon County. It also contributes to stopping suburban sprawl and keeping the Garden State a real garden state.
- Of course the mill is notable enough to have its own article on Wikipedia. It needs expanding and better referencing, but that isn't a reason to delete it. Mjroots (talk) 21:13, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
