Depositional Environment

[edit]

It's immediately obvious that by bringing up Ichthyoconodon in that paragraph, it is implicitly included in the subsequent discussion of aquatic depositional environments not necessarily implying an aquatic lifestlye. Unless there is a subsequent reference which explicitly explains why their reasoning does not apply to Ichthyoconodon, the fact that Kielan-Jaworowska et al. said that Sigogneau-Russell's reasoning for an aquatic Ichthyoconodon was flawed remains relevant. She addresses Astroconodon, and even then notes a possible difference between freshwater strata. In retrospect her reasoning is flawed given Yanoconodon and Liaoconodon. Finally this mentions aerial and arboreal Mesozoic mammal ecologies seperately, though it does not bother to clarify it further, so I didn't use it.
