Genre
[edit]Okay, so according to Backtable the genres of Acoustic, Electronica, Trip-Hop are "questionable". Can we at least discuss this? This is an EP, THE EP, that helped craft Riverside into this very alternative progressive rock band we know today. If it wasn't for the experimental methods used in this EP, I very much doubt they'd have the unique sound that they do today.
In what way are they questionable? Elements of each of these musical genres are present in each. Perhaps Electroncia was a bit vague, and I apologise for that, but the trip-hop usage is evident. Well, actually, the beat used would be defined as having come from a hip-hop background, for that what makes up the trip-'hop' part of that genre. Perhaps you are ashamed to connect these genres with the genre of Prog-rock? Is that what it is? Or do you only see the larger picture? True, this is on the whole Progressive Rock, but shouldn't the ingredients that create this unique brand of prog, be listed? Please, lets discuss. --ThePhantasos (talk) 16:38, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
- Hello, and thanks for your ddonations to wikipedia. I am open to discussion about this. I've never connected that band in particular being connected to acoustic, electronic, or trip hop music. The main thing is that on wikipedia, if you want to add genres to infoboxes, then there should be reliable sources for the respective genres that are assigned to this album. The main problem with the edit is that it constituted original research, a practice of which is highly discouraged on wikipedia. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I based my reversion on such thought.
- And by the way, my reversion is not me being ashamed to connect those three genres with Riverside, because I enjoy those three types of music.
