aircraft carriers
[edit]- source of the first American aircraft carriers of the Liberty and Missouri type. <----???? Can not find the link to these classes ---->
Looks like there are no such classes, see List of aircraft carrier classes of the United States Navy. There were Liberty ships. Also, the phrase is speculative, so I am removing it. mikka (t) 22:26, 13 September 2005 (UTC)
Source
[edit]The first cited reference is http://www.300.years.spb.ru/eng/3_spb_3.html?id=109. Large parts of this article are lifted verbatim from that source (only with more typographical errors.) Should another on-line resource be copied verbatim in order to create an article for Wikipedia? Kablammo 03:28, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well, it was me who have written the original article. I used all the information in the external links section of the article, but indeed heavily relied on the http://www.300.years.spb.ru/eng/3_spb_3.html?id=109. I was trying to retell the story significantly different from the source, so it is copyright-clear. The article does not repeat the structure of the online source and there is no single sentence repeated verbatim from there (although a few phrase are similar). I think the article is copyright-clear, but will welcome any addition of the materials, copyediting and even retelling phrases if you think they are in the grey zone abakharev 06:42, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Sorry-- Didn't know you wrote the original source material. I'm glad to see an in-depth article on this subject. I do have a few questions to ask and corrections to make and hope to get to them soon. (For example, wasn't Queen Mary actually faster than Normandie?) Kablammo 17:27, 23 June 2006 (UTC) I rewrote the section on construction and maiden voyage. Kablammo 13:08, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
