Impedimenta
[edit]Would you give Impedimenta her own article? --APclark 11:15, 22 October 2005 (UTC)
- Probably not, although the target List of Asterix characters#Impedimanta has plenty of material and references for one. Andrewa (talk) 03:20, 3 November 2024 (UTC)

It has been proposed in this section that Vitalstatistix be renamed and moved to Vitalstatistix (disambiguation). A bot will list this discussion on the requested moves current discussions subpage within an hour of this tag being placed. The discussion may be closed 7 days after being opened, if consensus has been reached (see the closing instructions). Please base arguments on article title policy, and keep discussion succinct and civil. Please use {{subst:requested move}} . Do not use {{requested move/dated}} directly. |
Vitalstatistix → Vitalstatistix (disambiguation) – Primary redirect (with possibilities) to a section (List of Asterix characters#Vitalstatistix), that section being about 2000 words long and well referenced. The character is the primary topic by both usage and long-term significance over the only other meaning, a women's theatre company based in Port Adelaide, South Australia which has a great deal of web presence but this is understandable given their advocacy activities. - Note: this move request was transferred from Talk:Vitalstatistix (character) because Vitalstatistix (character) is a redirect, which is ineligible to be a current title in a move request. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 13:29, 3 November 2024 (UTC)
- Support: the character has had about 34 times the traffic of the organisation over the past year. YorkshireExpat (talk) 10:36, 3 November 2024 (UTC)
- There doesn't seem to be a need for a disambiguation page as there are only two entries. Just change Vitalstatistix back to a redirect and add a hatnote for the arts organisation. JIP | Talk 13:44, 3 November 2024 (UTC)
- Two-entry dabpages are used when there is no primary topic. See WP:TWODABS. 162 etc. (talk) 18:15, 3 November 2024 (UTC)
- But is there no PT? By which criteria? Andrewa (talk) 09:06, 4 November 2024 (UTC)

- Oppose The Asterix minor character is notable, but a primary topic is a stretch here. The "2000 words" mostly consist of the character's name in other translations of Asterix; this should probably be deleted altogether (List of Asterix characters overall is very long and crufty and could use a good trim.) 162 etc. (talk) 18:14, 3 November 2024 (UTC)
- Is there any policy that supports your proposed removal of this material? It is verifiable, NPOV and of interest. The fact that you find it crufty isn't a good reason IMO. I had a look at Wikipedia:INDISCRIMINATE and it doesn't fit any of the four sections there. Andrewa (talk) 21:00, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- WP:CRUFT is an essay, not a policy, but it does bring up good points about article quality when writing about works of fiction.
- I'll note that the only cited source in the translations paragraph is this. After clicking around that site, I could not find any information on the Vitalstatistix character. So at the very least, this requires some kind of proper fact-checking and citations.
- I'll leave it at that, since RM discussions are about article titles, not content. 162 etc. (talk) 01:09, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- Worth mentioning that's a Dutch site, and Vitalstatistix appears to be known as Heroïx in Dutch. YorkshireExpat (talk) 17:50, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
