The Peerage title Baron Bermingham of Kells in Ossory is currently held as a subsiduary title by Viscount Gormanston (I.). In 1550 the 1st, Viscount Mountgarret was granted the Manor of Kells and with it the Feudal Barony of Kells. "The Complete Peerage" by G.E. Cockayne makes reference to the fact that there is no evidence that the Viscounts Mountgarret were ever Peerage Barons of Kells in Ossory (Kilkenny). I would appreciate any corrections and/or comments.
