Lebanese citizens
[edit]- It is the same link used in "Visa requirement for Lebanese citizens", to make sure do some research and i'll figure out that lebanese citizens can enter Syria with visa free
- Syria adopted a new law that imposes visas on everyone despite the fact that previously, citizens of many Arabs states would not require a visa to enter Syria. Syria obviously failed to notify IATA of this change.--Twofortnights (talk) 23:58, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
Article's sourcing dilemma
[edit]I'm not sure if there's a way out of this, but this article as it stands now is just full of unsourced information in the absence of an official Syrian government source. Timatic has updated its visa requirements page for Syria, so I might add Timatic's updates into the visa policy page. JaventheAldericky (talk) 15:58, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
Have we been bamboozled?
[edit]I wonder if we have completely overlooked or misread the 2014 Syrian immigration law - I've gone and read the translated law, and Article 7 in the law says "The Minister of Interior may exempt Arabs and foreigners he deems appropriate from obtaining a visa or carrying a passport"
, which would imply that the visa exemptions we've listed in the article are actually legally de jure valid under Syrian law (assuming that this minister is still around). This would also mean that the Al-Watan source, currently being used to cite that "everyone must have a visa", in fact misrepresents what the law actually says. Hmm..
[edit]I don't know if it's true that Syria provides visa-free access to some countries.
Currently, will some countries actually have a visa-free system in place so they can travel freely..?
Not only Syria, but there are many countries where information about visas is lacking.
In the case where there was no information at all, I had no choice but to bring Timatic's records.. Well, Timatic isn't all that accurate either.
The reality is that there is not much reliable information.. nothing is easy. Lades2222 (talk) 23:31, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
