Is the statement about asbestos glue not being dangerous accurate? Can we find a source for it?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Cgirten (talk

No it was not. I have updated the article text to reflect more accurate data. Tile mastic, both black asphalt based and later latex-based tan mastic contained asbestos when vinyl asbestos floor tiles and sheet flooring were being sold. The hazard arises during demolition when the mastic can become pulverized and thus an airborne asbestos hazard unless proper wetting guidelines are followed. I included a citation to my research article on this topic. 22:58, 24 October 2013 (UTC) DanielJFriedman 10/24/2013 • contribs) 01:51, 23 February 2006‎

Merger proposal

[edit]

I propose that Vinyl floor tiles be merged into Vinyl composition tiles. I think that the content in the new article can easily be explained in the context of this one, and the new article is of a reasonable size that the merging it here will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned.JamesG5 (talk) 04:52, 18 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There was no recent activity, so I've just turned it into a redirect. The main source appeared to be spam, and the rest of the content was generalities about vinyl and such which would belong elsewhere anyway. The old page can be seen here. Thanks. Grayfell (talk) 06:03, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
