[edit]Comparisons to Tony Williams by unidentified people are fatuous and don't belong in an encyclopedia. (Also, an artist creates art. While Colaiuta may be technically skilled, let's bear in mind that Williams created art with Miles Davis. It says something for Colaiuta's judgement as an artist that he works with minor talents like Sting and Paul Anka. Please don't compare him to Tony Williams.) Ferdinand Pienaar 01:30, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
- Tony Williams also created some of the most overblown, self-indulgent musical masturbation ever recorded with his later work (24" bass drum era). Your opinion on Sting/Paul Anka is irrelevant and pointless for this page, and your opinion of Vinnie's status as an artist is (thankfully) in the extreme minority.62.30.111.43 15:59, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
- Agree - IP 62 is correct. Your opinion should not, in fact, influence the content of this page, as WP strives to be true to facts and not personal views. Regards, xC | ☎ 19:36, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
Same image used for Dave Weckl article
[edit]The same image is used for the Dave Weckl article. I don't know what either drummer looks like, so I'll leave the fixing to someone else. --Skylights76 20:43, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Jing Chi?
[edit]There's absolutely no mention of the band Jing Chi, which was composed of him, Robben Ford, and Jimmy Haslip. As a matter of fact, there's no page for Jing Chi itself. Big problem, no? 68.148.174.70 (talk) 00:31, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Karizma
[edit]Vinnie was also part of the group Karizma http://www.bluedesert.dk/karizma.html He's been affiliated with the group since 1979! There is also no page on Karizma - unless you are talking about the serbian band or kariZma, 2 pages here on wikipedia. Microcosmmm (talk) 23:38, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
David Logeman did the drums on You Are What You Is
[edit]The wikipedia entry for You Are What You Is also gives no indication of Vinnie in the Personnel listing. Is this in error? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 160.109.98.44 (talk) 21:53, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
Vinnie is listed as drummer on most tracks on Desmond Child's 1991 cd "Discipline" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.75.3.207 (talk) 00:44, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

Winning the Sting Audition:
[edit]Sting has stated that Vinnie called him when he heard that auditions were being held. Sting told him not to bother flying to England from LA as he was pretty much done with the auditions. Vinnie insisted, Sting relented and stated that he was glad he did because Vinnie was fabulous and just what he was looking for at the time. 2601:1C0:8202:6280:C0F6:300:91C1:8E8A (talk) 16:15, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

To add to article
[edit]Basic information to add to the text of this article (to help make it more properly encyclopedic): information about Colaiuta's family background and ethnic heritage. If he's Italian American, why not mention that in the text of this article?? 76.189.135.48 (talk) 02:44, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
